Update!

Okay, Just an update! Well, Ashlyn had to go back to Dr. Bruce the other day and he wants her to leave her sling on until Christmas Eve. She was very disappointed because we thought she might get it off that day, but he said he would rather be on the safe side and leave it on a few more days! I told Ashlyn that would just be one more reason to look forward to Christmas! He said everything was healing just as he expected and that we would talk about going back to gymnastics when we see him again after the first of the year!

We had a terrible storm the other night and lightening struck our computer, modem, two phones and our refrigerator!!! I called the insurance company and our deductible was $2,000! What were we thinking making our deductible that high?? I guess you never really think about having to use it. Well... we were able to get our refrigerator fixed thanks to a man down the street who is a Mr. Fix-it-all! As for the computer.. it is gone!! Luckily, we have an older computer that we weren't using anymore and so we are just going to use it for now until we can get through Christmas and all of the unexpected medical expenses. We replaced the phones and modem, but we're still having a few technical issues. Hopefully, those we will be resolved soon!

Anyway, that's what's been happening with us! We are all looking forward to Christmas and a few days off at home!! Merry Christmas to all!!

Christmas Time!

Okay... Well, it's that time again! Time to put up the tree and HOPE that your almost-two-year-old doesn't tear it down!! I put up the tree on Friday and Avery was very curious! He had to look everything over and kiss the angel before putting it WAY up tall. It was so funny! He has found every H0Ho (that's what he calls Santa) on there! He has pointed out the "balls" and the "staws" (stars)! He even found a few pictures of Sissy and himself! Wow! Christmas is so fun. He has already gotten his hand spanked several times and the tree has only been up two days! This should be a FUN month. Maybe the new will wear off soon and he'll forget about it.
As for Ashlyn...the tree is old news, you know. But we did go shopping on Saturday and she decided to take a peek into my bags and said "Mommy, I know that you bought some Littlest Pet Shops" I said, "Oh really??" Hmmm... Now what do I do? Go ahead and give them to her or give them to some other little girl?? Oh, well. I remember when I used to try to find my presents. I very rarely did, but every now and then I would find something and then I was disappointed because I love surprises! I miss being a child!
Oh well, got to go do something more productive while Avery is napping!

Ashlyn's Birthday!

Ashlyn just turned seven! I can't believe it! Where has the time gone?? It seems like just yesterday that she was two! She is getting so tall!
We had her birthday party here at the house and she had several of her friends over and family! We went on a hayride. She had hot dogs and cake ( I forgot the ice cream)! As you can see, her broken arm is not slowing her down at all!! Happy Birthday, Ashlyn!

My newest hobby!!

Just thought I would share with everyone our newest hobby at our house! We started a reef aquarium about five months ago and here is what it looks like so far. We are really having a lot of fun with it, but it is a lot of work! I never imagined!

First Broken Bone!!!

Well, Ashlyn has a fractured arm. She fell on the playground at school on Friday and when I picked her up, she told me she had fallen and that she hurt her funny bone. I didn't think too much about it, because for those of you who know Ashlyn, she falls all the time! But she fell from one of the pieces of equipment that she was climbing on.
Anyway, Saturday went by and she kept favoring her arm. I could tell that it was bothering her, but when we would ask her about it, she would just say it didn't hurt that bad. Well, Sunday comes and no better. So this morning I called her pediatrician and made an appointment. He checked her over and sent us to TC Thompson for an x-ray. I was just thinking the whole time that it would just be like a bone bruise or maybe a torn rotator cuff or something. I thought we would be in and out of x-ray.
Well, a couple of hours later...they tell us she has a fracture in the upper arm bone. They couldn't really cast it because of where it is, but they put her in a sling and then we have to follow up with Dr. Bruce sometime before Thanksgiving. The bad part is, it's her left arm, which she is left-handed, but she is such a trooper! She never complained and she never cried! I had a broken bone in high school and I cried like a baby!!
It should heal fairly quickly because of the type of break and where it is, but she is going to have to miss gymnastics and she is NOT happy about that! It's like I told her, it could be a lot worse! Anyway, hope everyone has a good week! Good night!

Sad news at our house!

I am so sad!! A neighbor of ours came to our house yesterday evening to let us know that our cat, Tyrone, had gotten in another neighbor's pool and had drowned! I can't even imagine how or why Ty would have jumped in their pool unless maybe some dogs were chasing him or something. He normally didn't wander that far from home, but I guess this day he did. He used to be an inside cat, but once Avery got to moving around, we put him out because I just couldn't handle the shedding anymore! Now I wish I had just left him in. Our family has horrible luck with pets! Ashlyn was pretty upset, but she actually did better than me. I just hate it!

Well, on a happier note, we still have Jessie and Otter and, of course, Stretch, the dog, but Ty will be much missed!!

New Look!

Thanks to my friend, Diane Bryden, I now have a "pretty" blog. I am not very technical when it comes to this blogging thing, but it's fun. It's just hard to find time to do it! Sometimes I feel like I am just always chasing my tail, but it's neat to be able to share my family with everyone!

Sharpay and the Pirate!

Ashlyn and Avery had a good time trick or treating. We mostly went to family and close friends!

Ashlyn was Sharpay for Halloween! In case you don't know who Sharpay is, she's on High School Musical. She got to have a party at school and carve a pumpkin. Pepaw came to help her and Jaycie carve their pumpkins and I got to go help, too! I'm not very good at carving pumpkins, so I left that up to Pepaw! She enjoyed the day and got way too much candy!!

Trick or Treat!

Avery had a Halloween party at his little school! I think he was scared of the little "bat". He had a good time and it was fun to see him. You could ask him what the pirate says and he would say "ARGH". He refused to wear his hat, but he still looked so cute!

Notice anything wrong?

Huh, what's wrong with this picture?? Avery decided to get in the tub before I got his clothes off! Oh, well....

Trip to the Beach!

We went to Fort Walton Beach in July and we had a really good time. It was Avery's first trip! He wasn't quite sure what to think about the ocean, but he enjoyed playing in the sand. Ashlyn stayed in the pool almost the whole week and was swimming like a little fish!

This is Avery's new trick! He likes to get in the dryer while I am folding clothes! Now he has learned to get them out for me :)
Okay, It's been two months since I have updated this blog! Thanks to my friend, Janet Tilley, I am finally putting some new pictures!

Aquarium

We took the kids to the Aquarium a couple of weekends ago and they had a ball! The place was packed, so we didn't get to see everything we wanted to see, but Avery was just amazed at everything!

Homemade Ice Cream with Papa!

Papa didn't get to eat much of his ice cream as long as Avery was around!

It's been a while!

Okay. I'm embarrassed by how long it's been since I have updated this blog, but after several requests to do so, I am finally adding some new pictures. Life is definitely a lot more hectic with two children!!

Avery's Birthday

There is definitely an advantage to having a big sissy!! Check out all the girls at my party!

Avery's Birthday

Okay, my Mommy has finally posted pictures of my birthday! I just can't believe I am one!

Happy Easter!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter. We did! I wish it had been a little warmer, but it was a beautiful day anyway!

Bubbles are fun!

Ashlyn thought it would be fun to make Avery a "bubble beard". He thought it was so funny! She decided to join him! He kept trying to eat the bubbles.

Ashlyn's snowman!

Here is Ashlyn's snowman she made on Saturday when it snowed! She named it Skeeter! That is her nickname that her Daddy calls her!

Playing outside on a beautiful day!

I have been inspired by my friend Katie to start a blog so that everyone can keep up with our growing children! I thought I would start with a couple of pictures of Ashlyn and Avery outside. It was such a beautiful day and we got to go outside and play! Oh, and it snowed about three days later!
